Well, until the summary is post, here's my story post to tide you guys over:
Meanwhile....
Near a river in a battle scared section of New York.....
Nigal Thrall was brooding. Coredeath was still alive, somehow having been able to escape from Arkansan's mind before he could kill her.
If only those other two dragons hadn't interfered, fumed the young sorcerer, then I could have finished them both, and killed two birds with one stone.
As if to emphasize his point, he picked up a nearby stone and threw it into the river. Unaware that something was watching him from below it's murky depths....
He turned his back on the sluggish water, planning to head back to the hideout he shared with Coredeath. Suddenly, something large and fast slammed into him!
Nigal rolled over, thrashing to get the creature off him, but soon found himself pinned by it. He finally stopped struggling and looked up at the beast holding him down. It was a kelpy.
“Well, well.....” hissed the kelpy, “Looks like my lucky day.”
“Wait!”, yelled Nigal, “Do I look like a magical creature to you?! Kelpies don't eat humans!”
“You're no human,” said the kelpy, “sorcerer, and magical creatures are hard to come by. Most of them were killed off by the invaders, or have gone into hiding. These are hard times even for me. I take what I can get!”
It leaned in closer to him, fangs inching towards his throat. Desperate, Nigal cried out, “Wait! Wait! I'll- I'll make a deal with you!”
The kelpy stopped, glaring down at him. “You're in no position to be making deals,” it sneered, “What could you possibly offer?”
Thinking fast, Nigal said, “I have a proposition for you, an offer you can't refuse.”
The kelpy's eyes narrowed. “what kind of offer?”
“You say the hunting has been rather slim for you, correct?”
“Why should it concern you?” snapped the sea beast, “I could eat you now and be done with it.”
“But that's just my point.” said Nigal, with a sly edge to his voice, “If you eat me, you'll be hungry again in a day or two at most. Why settle for that, when, if you let me live, I could see to it that you have enough prey to keep you satisfied for years?”
The hungry kelpy seemed intrigued by this. “What kind of prey?”
“Why, your favorite, of course.” said Nigal, “Dragons.”
The beast's eyes lit up at the sound of that word. Drool started dribbling from it's mouth onto the sorcerer's clothes, but he tried his best to ignore it.
“Entire flocks of strong, healthy dragons....” said Nigal, tempting the beast further, “And I can lead you straight to them.”
“How could you possibly manage that?” hissed the kelpy.
“Let me up, and I'll explain it further.” said Nigal.
The creature glared at him suspiciously, then say, “Very well, but no tricks.” It got up, and the young sorcerer got to his feet.
After brushing himself off, he turned to the kelpy and said, “They live in a cave system under Central Park. But you'll never get past the main entrance, even with your shape-shifting powers. They have spells placed on all the entrances to ward off kelpies and other unwanted magaical creatures.”
“Then how do I get in?” asked the kelpy.
“Not to worry, my slippery friend.” Nigal said slyly, “I've been scrying the base, and I've found a way in. There is a nearby spring that runs right into a pool in the lower caves of the base. It's been warded against poison and disease, but nothing else. The underwater tunnel is just big enough for you to get through.” (To scry, means to see with magic, using crystal, fire, water, mirrors, smoke, or anything with a reflective surface.)
The keply eyed him warily. “Your kind never give anything freely,” it said, “What do you want in return for this?”
Nigal smiled slyly at the kelpy. "Oh, not much. A small favor. There is a young female dragon living in those caves." As he spoke, he formed an image of the dragoness in midair. "She is known as Arkansan."
"And you want me to bring her to you." said the kelpy.
The sorcerer's smile widened. "She has.... information, that is of value to me." He said carefully. There was no way he was going to tell the kelpy about Arkansan's powerful gemstone, The Heart of Draco. If I get my hands on that stone.... he thought, I'll have enough power to out-match Coredeath himself! He went on, "Weaken her, disable her if you must, but I want her brought to me alive. Once I have what I need from her. I'll let you eat her, along with anything else you can catch in those caves."
The kelpy seemed pleased with this offer. Then he asked, "What creatures live in those lower caves?"
"The only creatures that go down that far," said Nigal, "are the dwarves who mine there. They search for metals and elements that are used by the other creatures and humans."
"Perfect." said the kelpy, "Dwarves are easy enough to deal with. With the right disturbance, I can make the dragons come straight to me."
"So we have a deal then?" asked Nigal.
The kelpy gave him a twisted smile.
"Deal."

Back at Alliance HQ....
Arkansan had caught Jason up on the events that had happened during his time frozen in the mountains. And Jason had told her what had happened to him.
"But, how did you survive being frozen in that avilanch for two years?" asked Arkansan, when Jason had finished his story.
"I cast a spell on myself just before I got buried," he said, "it kept me alive in a state of suspended animation until I woke up."
"Uh, look I don't mean to break this up," said Jake, who was looking at the hole that had been blasted into the wall, "but I'd just like to know one thing. What the heck happened out here?! And where's Artemis?"
"She was trying to slay me and the other Councilors." said Councilor Kulde, "Then this dragon," here he pointed at Jason, "came crashing through the wall and attacked her, and then Templar showed up and they fought each while Artemis fled the scene."
"What?!" said Arkansan, "Artemis wouldn't do that! She may be a hunter, but even she doesn't just attack without reason."
"Wouldn't she?" asked Councilor Andam, "She's tryed to slay you and Kane countless times already."
"He does have a point there." said Kane, looking at Arkansan. She glared at him, and he looked away.
"Wait," said Zinthos, "Arkansan might be on to something. Before Artemis left the room, she said she'd heard something out in the hallway."
"I know how to settle this." said Fu Dog, coming up to them, "We can just watch the tape on the survallince camera." He pointed up to the camera mounted in a corner of the ceiling.
The old dog pulled a VCR and a small TV out of the wrinkles in his fur, as Jake flew up to the camera and got the tape. They all gathered around to watch as he played back the last hour or so.
When it was over, Arkansan turned to the Councilors and said, "There! You see?! She wasn't trying to slay you at all, she was trying to save us from Templar!"
"Arkansan, calm down-" started Jason, but the young dragoness rounded on him instead.
"And you! Since when did you start attacking first and asking questions later?!"
Jason just stared at her, unsure of how to answer.
Arkansan whirled away from him, heading for the window.
"Where are you going?!" asked Rose.
"Going to find Artemis before Templar or Coredeath does." said Arkansan, and before aanyone could stop her, she was out the window and flying away over the hill....
The Dragon Councilors looked at each other, then glanced at the others gathered there, as if asking for some explaination to Arkansan's sudden outburst.
Kane stepped forward, saying, "You'll have to excuse her, Councilors, she's been through a lot recently...."
(Next!)
Arkansan searched the landscape below, coming to land in front of the Headquarters Gate.
"I'm looking for someone named Artemis, did you see her leave here?" she asked the guards.
"Who? Sorry, but no one's been through here."
"There was a vehicle transporting civilians that left almost an hour ago," said the other guard.
Taking flight, Arkansan set off. It wasn't long before she caught up with the vehicle below, as it was long, filled with people, and not going very fast.
Landing beside the road, she lit a breath of fire, signaling the vehicle to stop.
"Hello Miss, are you getting on?" asked the driver.
"Actually, I'm looking for someone," she said, stepping into the lighted bus.
Knowing instantly that this was Arkansan, a very prominent leader of the Alliance, the driver waited while she made her way through the vehicle.
In the back, Artemis glanced up to see that that obnoxious Arkansan had found her here, somehow. Ducking, she made her way to the rear exit.
"I guess she's not here," said Arkansan.
All of a sudden, she spotted a movement towards the back. It was Artemis!
"Artemis, wait!" she yelled, as the rear door slammed shut.
Close behind, Arkansan exited the bus too.
"Artemis, where are you?" she said, searching the dark surrounding.
Meanwhile.....
The kelpy had made its way through along the stream , as Nigel had instructed. But driven by hunger, he quickly went in search of a fast-meal before continuing on to the Alliance Headquarters.
A long truck rambled past. The Kelpy could smell the blood of many a creature, at least a few magical beings to make a quick feed. All of a sudden the vehicle came to a perfect stop in front of him. A small figure burst out the back, followed by another.
"Mmmmmm" sniffed the Kelpy, "Dragon blood."
"Artemis, where are you?" a voice called, only a few feet from him.
Pouncing, the kelpy landed on his prey, desperate to finally feed...

"Uhhhhhh!" yelled Arkansan , as the breath was knocked out of her.
Turning over to defend herself, she could barely struggle as the creature on top of her had already sunk its jagged teeth into her shoulder.
"Arkansan!" gasped Artemis, emerging from the nearby forestry.
Arkansan thought the Kelpy,
this is the same dragon the wizard wants.Growling in frustration at his deprived meal, the Kelpy released his mouth from around the struggling dragon.
A human stood in front of him, unsheathing a bladed, staff-like weapon.
With a twisted grin, the kelpy transformed into a full sized troll; a side effect of feeding on magical creatures, it had the ability to take on their physical form, as well as any powers they had.
Slinging the Dragon over his troll sized shoulder, the kelpy swung at the human in front of him, sending her sprawling back.
Then, the kelpy transformed again into a Griffen, flying off with Arkansan...
Next, next, as next.
