The following are the Forum Design Contest Rules and Regulations, you MUST agree to the terms set out in this post before you will be allowed to create a style for the board, it also serves as a guideline for style creation. This post also lays out the prizes for this contest and may be edited at any time to add new prizes, however the rules will not be changed as they are imperative to the board's security.

CRITERIA
Contestants may redesign any of the following as they see fit:
Themes - A CSS file which controls most of the coloring of the forum.
Imagesets - A series of .gif images that make up the smiley's and graphical buttons on the forum
(Contact an admin to have your imageset uploaded.)
Logo - Each Style should come complete with a logo similar to the one currently at the top of the board and homepage. But better. This piece will be added manually by the admin, and should mesh well with your style.

Templates may be used for Reference only! These should not be edited without first contacting an admin for permission. If we find that your template does not work with the modifications on the board it will be replaced with one that does.

RULES
1.) Use ONLY the Prosilver or Subsilver2 Styles as starting points, others will not work. DO NOT steal someone else's work. There are plenty of sites that offer templates you could copy and paste into yours, but this forum is meant to be a fan creation based on American Dragon. If you have help, give credit.

2.) TAMPERING WITH ANOTHER CONTESTANTS STYLE WILL RESULT IN DISQUALIFICATION AND LIKELY ACCOUNT BANNING! For the purpose of this contest, contestants will be given access to the style section of the Admin Control Panel. It [b]WILL[/b] be possible for other users to view and DELETE your style. However, ALL Admin actions are logged, and we will take action if this happens.

3.) Falsifying a claim against another contestant carries the same penalty as rule 2.

4.) It is a good idea to EXPORT your style periodically so that, if it is deleted, we can restore it for you. (Exporting will be covered in the video.)

5.) Do NOT set your style as "ACTIVE" or "DEFAULT" Doing so will cause the entire board to view your unfinished style in place of this one, and even if it is good we don't want that just yet. Admin will be able to view finished styles using the preview functions.

GETTING STARTED
To enlist as a designer in this contest you must agree to the following rules. You may do this by posting your agreement in reply to this topic. When your reply is seen we assume that you wish to join the contest, but you may want to PM one of us to speed things up.

We will PM you as soon as you have "Designer" status. From there you will use the Style Section of the Admin Control Panel to manipulate and test your styles.

DEADLINES
All styles must be completed by [b]January 25th, 2009[/b]! After this date, after this date all designer ACP access will be removed and the judging will begin. You can expect winners to be announced by January 30th, 2009. These dates may be extended, however they will not be shortened.

PRIZES
The winning entry will receive 500 pieces of leprechaun gold. Placing him higher ranking in Gold than even the Administrative team.
The Runner-Up receives 300 pieces of leprechaun gold.

Several entries of honorable mention may be chosen to be used as optional themes on the board. Entries in this case will each receive 100 gold pieces. ALL Entries used in the final forum look, whether optional or default, will be given credit for their work.

All Contestants who turn in a completed style, whether it is used or not, will receive mention in a special announcement detailing the expected success of this contests. Thank you all for your hard work and dedication. That's it for me.
